Electrolux Professional's new generation of refrigerated cabinets, ecostore, has been awarded the Horeca24 'Innovation of the Year Award' and commended amongst the 'best-in-class energy efficiency solutions' at the Environmentally Friendly Innovation Awards 2012.
The ecostore range from Electrolux uses 65% less energy than standard cabinets* on the market, enabling customers to save up to £600 per year when using it as a freezer and £300 per year as a refrigerator.
Both awards reinforce the company's commitment to manufacturing food service solutions which meet professionals' need for equipment that can help save energy, cut bills and meet CSR targets.
Stuart Flint, Business and Training Development Manager at Electrolux Professional, said:
"Refrigeration equipment has become increasingly sophisticated in recent years with green issues having a bigger influence on innovation and new product development. Food service professionals want fridges that are made from materials that don't damage the environment, that are energy efficient and meet the high standards they expect.
"As customers demand higher quality and longevity it's up to manufacturers to innovate and provide best in class solutions. This is something we continually strive for at Electrolux Professional and we're thrilled the ecostore has been awarded twice as a result."
Electrolux Professional ensured the range utilised high efficiency components, including thicker insulated walls and three-chamber gaskets, to reduce energy loss. ecostore models are also equipped with R290 natural refrigerant gas to limit the greenhouse effect and extend the long lasting life of the cabinets.
The ecostore range also qualifies for the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme, which enables you to claim 100% first year capital against the taxable profits in the first year after. For example, on £5,000 spent, the first year tax bill would be reduced by £1,200.
Electrolux Professional is recognised worldwide for its social and environmental performance and many of its product lines, such as the ecostore range, meet and exceed international standards.
*Potential energy savings based on cecedItalia (National Association Domestic and Professional Manufactures) studies obtained by comparing class1 refrigerators and freezers with equivalent cabinets in class 7 (energy cost of 0,17 €/kWh and average net volume of 600lt). Energy Classification Label E.C.E. ranks from class 1 to 7.
