The Productive Community Hospital: Releasing time to care™ is the latest innovative programme of work from the NHS Institute's Productive Series.

The Productive Community Hospital provides the tools and techniques to help frontline staff cut waste and release more time to care, helping to drive up quality, improve safety, and increase patient - and staff - satisfaction.

Early results from the pilot show:

staff time with patients increased by 20 per cent
a 40 per cent reduction in did not attend (DNA) rates
Working through a series of tailored modules, community hospital staff will be equipped to achieve great results for patients and staff using the latest evidence-based approaches, empowering frontline staff to make the most of hospital time and resources.

Two successful national events took place in September and October. However, a further conference is planned to provide delegates with a chance to hear directly from community hospitals that have tested The Productive Community Hospital. Delegates will also have an opportunity to practice some improvement tools and techniques.

The event takes place:

3 November 2008 – NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, Coventry House, University of Warwick Campus, Coventry CV4 7AL

Email: [email protected] or call 02476 475 966 and ask for the Productive Series support team.
