The vast majority of jobhunters have embraced mobile recruitment, according to new research.

Findings published by the CV-Library jobs board revealed that 56 per cent of UK jobseekers use their mobiles when trying to boost their career development opportunities.

The research suggests that there is a gradual move away from the traditional paper CVs towards using technology to search for opportunities.

Lee Biggins, managing director of CV-Library, said: "Mobile innovation cannot be ignored, especially within the online recruitment industry where candidates and recruiters continually require instant and easy access to a pool of jobs or CVs. As jobseeker behaviour continues to change it is the responsibility of the recruitment industry to stay up to date as we have done in the past."

But as well as there being more people hunting for jobs, the number of jobs is improving, with research from totaljobs showing that vacancies have risen by 12 per cent year on year.
