David Cameron and Ed Miliband have offered their Party's apologies following the publishing of today's Hillsborough Independent Panel Report and condemned a 'double injustice'

The report which is released today will state that there was clear operational failures by the Ambulance, Police and Emergency Services. The vast majority of the fans assisted in rescuing and evacuating injured and dead. Previously it was reported that Liverpool fans had hindered the rescue operation which today was confirmed as untrue.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Labour leader, Ed Miliband said that " the people of Liverpool have been systematically smeared" by the years of false truths and lies. He went to go on and say " It was not just a tragedy but a gross injustice."

There were calls from the Labour leader to re-inquire the disaster and bring those involved to justice. The independent panel will hold a news conference this afternoon in which further details of the report will be released.
