TOPIC: Do you realise only 1% of the planets water resources are useable?

Do you realise only 1% of the planets water resources are useable? 1 year, 6 months ago #1

'The Greening Government Commitments
Reduce water consumption from a 09/10 baseline, with reports on water use against best practice'

With a few changes we can significantly reduce usage and waste, which can save money on squeezed budgets and make complying with new legislative targets achievable.

Average water flow rate on all taps is up to 30 litres per minute the CP961® reduces this flow to (4, 6 or 8 litres per minute). It can be used on hot taps (less water = less energy to heat water).

This unit can be fitted to showers and push type taps, thus reducing the water used/wasted.
Easily installed by maintence team or plumber, CP961 Pressure Valve £10.60 each.
Can you afford not to ask us how we can help?

With water being one of the natural elements we have over the years become complacent to its value, only recently with over use and wastage resulting in drought conditions and restrictions have we started to realise its true value.
Not only do we take this for granted when there are people in the world do not have water let alone clean water, we pay for what we use and for what we don’t use literally money down the drain.

Thanks Gillian, one of the biggest areas of consumption within central government estates has been and still is water efficiency. How are other authorities, organisations and the third sector coping?

Hi Scott,

Many people remain complacent in that its not a problem you turn the tap on and water comes out and therefore don't see a necessity to spend on this to make both financial and environmantal savings.

It is only due to recent austerity measures where budgets are analised people are looking at ALL costs and therefore the other sectors are going to be led by the Government initiative they have so far in my knowledge not been very pro-active with this.
