Luciana Berger MP, Labour's Shadow Climate Change Minister, responding to a report by the Green Alliance which says that climate change policies are being held back by the Tory-led Government, said
"Yet again the "greenest Government ever" is failing to live up to its promise. It’s wrong that ministers are fighting petty battles between themselves, when they could be taking action to boost the economy, by creating green jobs.
"After over a year of this Tory-led Government, the UK has fallen out of the global top ten for clean energy investment and is struggling to meet climate targets.
"In spite of this, ministers have rejected Labour’s plans to help small businesses and provide extra support for those struggling to stay warm.
"This report shows the Government should be doing so much more to secure investment in renewable energy and create skilled jobs for the future. Minsters should stop squabbling and get on with it."
