The governments announcement of the creation of 11 new Enterprise Zones for businesses will boost work in renewable energy and low carbon industries
The government aim to help businesses set up in the areas by providing tax breaks and more relaxed planning laws.
A Renewable Energy Super Cluster will be one of the zones created in the Humber Estuary, as well as the Daresbury Science Campus in Warrington and Science Vale UK in Oxfordshire.
Business secretary Vince Cable said: "Across England, these Zones will generate new jobs, investment in areas that can benefit, and develop high-tech products that will secure long-term sustainable prosperity."
It has been reported that the Humber Enterprise Zone will aim to attract large manufacturing companies in the renewable energy sector, similar to Siemens, which has indicated that it will build a wind turbine facility in the area.
It is predicted that the areas will create over 30,000 new jobs by 2015.
