The number of unemployed people in the UK rose by 38,000 to 2.49 million in the three months to June, official figures have shown
This is the first time in three months that the Office for National Statistics has reported a rise in the number of people without work.The number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance increased by 37,100 in July to 1.56 million.
The claimant count has now risen for three months in succession.
